Squidbillies
I have finally cottoned up too Squidbillies.
It took me a while. I guess the level of the "drawings" put me off at first, but the past few months, I have become a Squidbillies fan. My question, Erly (sp?), is that Unknown Hinson's voice? Sounds like it too me, and really seems to fit the kinda humor that Mr. Baker would probably have. And that poor Sheriff. Is that Billie Joe Shaver? I wish just once, the sheriff would blast ole erly, and get the upper hand on him. |

I love the episode where Erly burns down his place to collect insurance money (and I dont think he had any insurance), but the Sheriff thinks it was Aliens that burned his place down, and low and behold, Aliens where involved.........

It's a show that came on while I was without cartoon network but it is a great funny show.

You know, the Squidbillies are just over the hill from me, further up North I-575. I got hip to the show a couple years ago and own both seasons on DVD.
Satire at it's finest. No one has done up southern things like the Squidbillies. I've been sporting the Early monloge as my signature,.. I know that guy,... I know that mind. How about Early's Truck-Boat-Truck? When a Truck-Boat just isn't enough man machine (or squid machine),... enough, getcha a T-B-T!  Billy Joe sings the intro on most episodes (intros not written by BJS), but I don't recall him doing any characters voices.

I just love that there a Federally-protected endangered species, the "Appalachian Mud Squid". They get away with all there stuff, and the sheriff just protects em.
Though, Like I said before, I'd love to see the sheriff just get Earlie once, real good like..... |

How about Early's hats?
"Free Hat Limit 1" "World's Greatest Illegitimate Daddy" "May I Help You, My Child?" "Breathe If You're Horny" "Here's The Beef" "Groom" "Remember 9-111 - Irregular" "Goal Bandit" "2005 Prom King" "Booty Hunter"  It should be said that it's very adult material in theme, offensive to many and I would not view anything Squid related from a work computer.

That's not Billy Joe doing the sheriff but it is him doing the opener - I'm a huge Shaver fan and that's how I discovered the show back when it first started airing. It's my favorite ever!

my family stares at me like I lost it... I luv the episode where the little squid is it Rusty?? becomes a rock star... Same thing with Robot Chicken... Luvin Adult Swim... lots of clever stuff there... |

It's a love hate thing for me, because the humor is wacky as ----! I've been DVRing it for about three months and Unknown couldnt have found a better gig! ok maybe, he kicks butt on guitar.
The sheriff's voice is the guy from the 70's movies and Airplane? Then later the guy from some the sitcom with ReRun, 'm not sure, but I looked it all up back a few months ago. Early is funny as can be! |
