"front proch" bass drum thingy ???
Saw something a few years back at a Dallas guitar show, and interested in any info.
There was a guy there who made this wooden step thingy called "front porch", back porch", can't remember. Anyway, it looked like a old floorboard, but you plugged it into the p.a. and when you stepped on it it sounded like a bass drum, or a big boot stompin' on the front porch. (great for my solo acoustic gigs) I just had the idea for something like this and remembered them. Anybody know what the hell I am talking about?? Thanks |

I think they were mentioned in a thread here yesterday. LINK
If you're talking about the same thing, that was the first I had heard of them. Sounds like it could be a neat accompaniment - if done properly.

That sounds like the porchboard bass. My partner
who is a drummer got one and we put it thru my bass amp. Sounds great and allows us to gig as a duo. Tele, archtop or acoustic doesn't matter, I don't miss a bass player. Much more effective than a bass drum. We love the thing. LB |
