The Fender Players Forum had ceased to exist

Joe (Strat-Mangler) as he's known on the forum, has pulled the plug on a 3 year guitar forum project this morning and we're sad to see him go.

For several reasons, as I'm sure Paul here and the moderators will tell you, it can be very challanging to run an internet forum and try to keep things peaceful, helpful, and fun.

Joe has many other interests that occupy his time and it seems the challange eventually outweighed the reward.

Many thanks for his efforts and the friends some of us have made over there and migrated here as well as other places.

Anyone who attempts to run a forum has my total respect and admiration. I am a moderator on two motorcycle forums, one is extremely busy, and at times it can shake your very belief in mankind.

Anyway, just passing it along for those of you who might be friends and to say "Thanks Joe" for putting up a cool guitar forum. Be well and enjoy much success in your future endeavors.

ADV or Thumpertalk? Just curious. Some guitar threads occassionally come up over there, and some of the people seem pretty knowledgible.

I saw that when I tried to check in this morning.

It's a shame for us, but better for Joe.

Thanks for the good times, Joe!

I can definitely agree with all about how hard it is to keep a forum running smoothly as I am an administrator on one forum and a moderator on another and we have problems all the time, luckily so far nothing major but something all the time.

Too bad... it was a nice place to hang your hat. (Not that this place isn't!)

Which one is the one with Chris Greene as the administrator? Not the same one?

I know the answer to the first question, but I won't "go there"!
