Hawaii Koa Wood
i just have to spread the word... i played a few acoustics made from koa wood and those were some of the best sounding guitars ive heard. so i went to best buy and played that taylor electric also made from koa and i think i've fallen in love with it. im planning on building a guitar out of it in the near future...

If you're talking about the Koa T5: I really dig that guitar. If you're talking about Best Buy the electronics super store: I am a little unsettled by the fact that they sell that guitar. I won't elaborate on that last part-not intended to spark debate. Koa IS beautiful though!

I love koa ukulele's. I don't have one yet, but I will. My mahogony uke is lovely, but nothing sounds like koa. Never heard a koa electric guitar, but it certainly is a beautiful and resonant wood.

I live on Oahu but it's still difficult and expensive to find koa.
Had some luck on the big island, Got a decent sized board for some frinds that build guitars/uke's. I like the looks but have not owned a Koa guitar so far. |

Australian blackwood is very similar in properties and appearance to Koa.
