See the sunburst beauty fifth from the right? That's my full hollowbody S101.
I've never seen an s101 tele.
Heck, I've only seen one other S101 in person other then mine.
Anyway, I got my s101 hollowbody with a solid form fitted case for around 400.00 and don't regret it a bit. I tried a lot of hollowbodies a few years back before pulling the trigger on this one.
I to was unsure because I never heard of "s101", but the quality of this one sold me. The binding, finish and fretwork are better then most simular "name brand" imports I've seen. The pups are a little dark, but fine.
The hardware seems good. My only complaint is the electronics might be a little "iffy", but thats true of most Chinese made guitars.
Anyway, I say if you can try before you buy, definetly don't let the "S101" on the headstock scare you off..

I've got an s101 tele. If I remember correctly, they're made by some large Korean manufacturer - Sejun? I like it a lot; it has decent sound and I'm really happy with it. I would definitely buy another, but right now I have my eye on the $79 SX strats. The price is definitely right; I think I got mine for $90 of $100 shipped.

I'VE GOT ONE!!

I've got a s101 tele as well (Pictured). The bridge pup came replaced with an ebay dragonfire rail which i dont like too much, way to distorted. I will be replacing the pickups with a possible minibucker in the bridge and some vintage alnico in the neck, i will also be replacing the tuners with some gotoh style tuners and trade out the string trees for rollers. The only things the guitar is lacking right now is some good tuners and slightly better pups. Once ive upgraded these parts (about 50 bucks on guitarfetish.com) it should be about the best $150 guitar around. If you guys have any opinions or advice on upgrades for this tele then let me know. Thanks

-Dan

I had one. Much worse than a Squier tele. I paid $60 for mine, which is about $59 more than it's worth.

It sounded ok, but I really hated the fret board and it went out of tune in less time than it takes to play "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" (the baby's favorite).

My $99 used Squier tele, on the other hand, is a keeper.

I've got one of these new for $150 . The fit and finish is excellent. Like most guitars in this range, where they cheap out is the hardware. It's probably in the Squier range but you dont really have to change anything unless you just like to tinker. I've never seen any of their other stuff for sale though.

You can buy them on ebay sometimes. I got mine from the great thing we know as craigslist. As far as quality...Once you change out the tuners then its just as good as a squier but with a better neck. The sound on these really cant be beat for $100 but maybe i just got a good one...
