Where/what do you do for band flyers?

I'm looking into doing some flyers to post at venues for upcoming gigs. Do you do your own or have someone design them for you? Naturally, I'm looking into the least expensive route!! Are they prepared on your home pc using a program or do you outsource?

We usually make our own, and then print them out. Lately, I've been getting them printed up at Kinko's - really nice print quality at about .75 cents a poster (can get to be expensive, but I only print up about 30 or so).

Here's a sampling of some of my band's posters (hopefully the link works): http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/inde...lbumId=1773237

I use Adobe Photoshop 7.0. I did the fliers that were drawings. I have a knack for that sort of thing, and I drew them in my spare time with a mouse & the paint brush tools in Photoshop.

My band mate uses office supplies, photos, and a scanner to make his fliers (which are pretty cool looking, IMO).

I just do them myself. Who says I photocopy them at work when the boss isn't around? Oh sorry, just getting paranoid.... is he in?

I make them in InDesign or Quark, print them at work, and then pay someone $60 to go hang them all over town.

We have a couple of artists who normally do ours -

You can have a good 11x17 to send in advance to any club you play...let them fill in all the info on the blank spot (name of the club/date/what other bands might be playing with you/etc) and hopefully it'll get at least one walker by's attention! :O)

We've all tried our hand at makin' them and we do all right I guess...but I feel really good throwing a few small jobs at artists I respect - we think it's tough making money playing music...they almost always get the short end of the stick!

I just make them up by grabbing neat pics off the net or from photos people take of us and throwing them onto a Word page then dress them up using WordArt or clipart.
I run them off my home printer. Cost nothing but my time essentially.

Of course, I like Mandie's better.

My bandmate's wife collects weird and obscure photos from magazines, inserts text blurbs, and spits them out on her computer. She has a somewhat campy sense of humor, and the flyers are usually snapped up by locals and regulars before I can even arrive at my jobs. Some past examples can be viewed here:

I've made some in the past using PowerPoint, which is similar to making them in Word, but slightly easier to manipulate graphics. Those Photoshop flyers really look great!
