this place is really very friendly
hi guys, lately the music-players on german myspace are having troubles. so i had a look at the german myspace-forum and i was shocked. the people there are incredibly rude, tasteless and full of bad manners. they pick on the myspace-technicians very hard and when people tell them to cool down, they give the voices of moderation really bad names. thanks everybody for keeping the good manners intact and an overall friendlyness here. my thanks to the moderators. i really appreciate your work, when i compare that to the "wilderness" out there. eddie

just what exactly is your *@?*$ problem with the way they post Eddie?
Just kidding mate, you're right of course. This is the only guitar forum worth visiting unless you just want to 'vent'. Id dont think you could make a website as special as this if you tried, its just grown to be a really friendly place. With some hard work from the mods of course.

I like the people here . Never had a problem with a one ... It starts at the top and the way Paul runs this place . And having moderators that we all like and respect goes a long way ...

Too true. I've visited another guitar site, let's call it, I don't know, the Sel Laup Forum, and there are some folks there who tend to have their phasers set on snark. Generally much more civil and welcoming here. Maybe something about having your hum bucked makes a body irritable.

I agree completely about this forum. I'm still very much a newbie to the place, but as I read along, I find everyone to be pleasant, extremely helpful, and knowledgeable beyond my wildest dreams, lol. And everyone posts their opinions in a respectful manner...which is it's a hard thing to do on the internet. I always get a kick when I go to youtube and watch a video, any video. Doesn't matter what it is, the comments will ALWAYS be like this...first a few supportive ones, then a basher will creep in and say "this sucks", then someone will agree with him, causing the original supporter to "defend" said video. It used to be amusing but it gets lame REAL fast.
I'm actually a mod on a band's website (though I haven't been a good mod lately) but the owners do a great job of keeping things in control there too. It is a lot of hard work and kudos go out to those who keep these places in shape! Overall, the internet pretty much gives everybody a say in things, and that often is a scary privilege, lol. |

Agreed. I'm also a moderator on another forum and though it's not as bad as some places, it's definitely not a place for the whole family if you know what I mean. This forum is a great resource, idea exchange and friendly clubhouse for tele lovers.

I too have enjoyed it. I have yet to find another guitar related forum that is as good. There are other friendly forums but they don't get much traffic and thus lose my attention (strat-talk and offsetguitars are to name but a few...both good places and friendly but need more members!). This is the closest thing I have found since my car days when I was an avid user of miata.net. It to is a friendly environment much like this that is a much needed relief from the immature BS that many music and car forums alike are trafficked with. Thanks mods!

Just as is true with so many situations, the TDPRI is an excellent reflection of the man who runs it. Thanks Paul! Cheers, Tim

I'll "+1" everything said so far, and add that I believe the prevailing reason this forum stays as civil as it does is due to the SHORT LEASH the members are kept on....and I for one appreciate it.
I like not having to slam the lid shut on the notebook when the TDPRI is open because my 8 year old or 13 year old walk over to peek....can't do that on lots of forums, due to very very slack (or lacking completely) policies regarding language and picture posting. Put me down for being extremely grateful for not having to wade through a bunch of filth to read about and discuss music and guitars. I don't give enough money to the upkeep of this great place, but I do what I can, and it far outstrips what I do at other forums I am a member of. |
