This thread about a Jazz duo gig got me to daydreamin'... if i had a once in a lifetime chance, who would i most like to play with in a guitar/vocalist setting ? i think it'd hafta be The Velvet Fog himself, Mel Torme....something about his voice and delivery just trips my trigger !

Mahalia Jackson (gospel)
Aretha Franklin (soul) or (torch) Julie London (in her prime and I get to be able to play as well as Tal Farlow)

Lots of good replies so far ...
If I had jazz chops, it'd be Joe Williams. As I have nearly zero jazz chops, I'll go with Nick Lowe Last edited by beach bob; August 30th, 2008 at 07:34 PM. |
