Only two pickups (EMGs at that). Replaced the bridge with a Hipshot. Graphite nut.

It's light as heck.

This is what I'm currently craving. Totally not Tele, for sure, but I'm curious. Seems like fun.

The other thing is, Rondo's photos are brutal. I am a member at the Agile forums, and when people post their personal photos of their guitars, they are beautiful. Especially some of those Spalted models like the one linked above. Some of the natural finished Tele and Strats look amazing as well. They have more of a vintage tint to them than the Rondo photos, and on average much better grain and seams.

I'd have to stick some P-94s in there...

If I was touring, I'd probably be playing something like this. If it gets stolen, you spend 149 bucks on a new one.

Here's what my last 2 purchases from Rondo have been:

I changed the pickguard on this one from black to pearl, and the P90 cover from cream to chrome/plastic, though it looks black in the pics.

I bought a GFS Fat Mini and a pickguard from GuitarFetish to do this one.

Apparently this little devil has been delivered and is sitting at home waiting for me right now. Sadly, I'm busy tonight and leaving town tomorrow till Tues. so I'm not sure when I'll get to test it. I'll post a review when I do though.

Thats going to take entirely too, long. I suggest you leave the key under a rock by the door and we'll come over and test it for you, just leave some beer in the fridge.

Under the circumstances, I suppose that's the only fair thing to do.

I like it, all curvey and sexy. Much better than pointy guitars that are puncture harzards.

Well, I got it, but unfortunately I sent it back. The one I got had a twisted neck (there was no relief on the bass side, but the other side of the neck had some) and I think the neck needed shimming or something because even with the bridge dropped down all the way, you couldn't get the action as low as I'd like.

But I have to say, that if the neck problem hadn't been there, I'd have kept it. It's a pretty cool guitar and a wicked deal for the money. They actually sent me a 3-pickup model, and though I found the bridge pup a bit weak and thin sounding (though adjustment may have helped that) the middle and neck pups sounded pretty good, as did the in-between positions. Overall fit and finish were good, and it was surprisingly light. The position of the volume control is a problem though, and I kept bumping into it while playing, as another poster noted, but that's something I could probably get used to if I wanted to and work around. We'll see how good their customer service is in terms of how well they handle the return and credit me the cost and shipping, but other than a bad neck (and I assume that's unusual because I haven't seen too many complaints about any of their guitars) I'd have to say I'd recommend it to others. Very cool looking and quite a range of usable sounds.

I'd try another one, but it was such a hassle dealing with FedEx to return it, it's put me off buying guitars through the web. But that's another story.

If they didn't have that crazy "shark fin" tail I would buy one in a heartbeat.

if fender wasnt so cheap with designs being similar- i recon the jazzmaster would have actually looked like this...

i want one BAD but i cannot decide what color... blue. chreme white. CAR red or burst.

ill never find a cheap lefty jazzmaster and i love that VERY mild trem capabilities.....

+1 on that! I have the Agile AL2000 w/p90's and I am in love with p90's! They handle overdrive and distortion amazingly! I want to get one of the SJM's but from what I have read the trem's make it somewhat difficult to tune. Rondo has stoptail versions which Kurt is expecting more in this fall.

Well just seeing this thread for the first time, combined with a couple of glasses of the finest boxed wine was enough for me to pull the trigger. I have till now successfully sworn off gear acquisition, but this is too cool.

I've been looking at them for a couple of years myself, but the ash/tortoise is a new finish on this guitar and might finally push me over the edge on it...and it has a 'tailfin' so how could I resist any longer?
