John really makes a Tele sound like a Tele doesnt he?

Awesome he has probably forgotten more licks than most of us can play!

A great thread for a great player (and person). I love watching those videos of John; he really is inspiring.

And let's recognize David Hartley as well.

Another Big John Stannard fan here! And a big fan of David Hartley too! Those guys are amazing! What an inspiration...

Does anyone know if Big John has any CD's for sale or if those Youtube videos can be purchased as DVD collection?

I could study on that stuff for years!

BTW, Does anyone know what kind of pickups Big John is using?

Mr. Hartley has many many more free and amazing YouTube videos...

Awwwwwwww shucks !!, thanks guy's (again).

Dave and i just 'let her rip' in his little shed/studio from time to time, when he bought himself a video camera we started filming and editing them, no, we can't 'lipsync' or whatever the playing equivalent is, it really is just us having a laugh and enjoying playing and fooling around.
It usually involves a little drinkies and a whole lot of laughter !

We will get some more sorted at some time, at the moment we are both busy with our own projects but i am working on a 100mph version of '8 days a week' we thought we would try and murder.

JayFreddy, if we ever get enough together we might master them to a DVD, the quality of the originals is pretty good.
"What pickups ?" -- Keysones of course !!, i still don't think there is a more 'Tele' sounding pickup IMHO of course.
Dave is a monster steel player and always has been from day one almost, there are several of us together on his YouTube page :- http://www.youtube.com/user/davepedalsteel
I still think his version of 'Together again' is deadly !.

Oh yes! That's great playing. John and Dave, both! And a nice at-home feeling in the film clips.

A DVD would be nice. I'd buy it!

Great name for what these guys do! Is that their real band name or were you just making it up? Or both?!

Please count on me as a pre-order of the upcoming DVD. I can pay up to USD $40 (which is worth about 3 quid now?!), plus shipping... If you've got audio tracks you could make a CD with, I'll take one of those too.

YouTube did wonders for Tony Emmanuel's career, no reason you can't get a similar buzz going for your stuff too. Just let me know when you've got something you can mail across the pond.

More Twangrendes Please!

edit: FREE TWANGRENADES MP3's!

Great stuff - stellar picking. I love those early Skaggs renditions. I dip my hat to you John and Dave. I love the funky look of the garage/shed/studio - my kind of place !!! Regards.

It was okay but the dog how to point to chord changes near the end. Isn't that cheating?
