Help adjusting the trussrod on a Peavey Bass
Hello all,
Hopefully someone can help me with this problem. I picked up a Peavey Millenium bass cheap this weekend and it has rehabed nicely however for the life of me I can not figure out how to adjust the trussrod. I am sure I am just being an idiot but I have never come across this type before. The picture below shows what I am up against.. ![]() Any help would be really appreciated so I could complete this project. |

You're going to need a bar that will fit the holes in the adjusting nut. I thought the nut was gone when I first looked at the pics, but it's there! Not all is lost. Just stick something the right size in there and turn it the same direction as you would a regular truss rod nut. Got a few pics of my Milenium and Firenza for comparison. If you are going to blame anyone for this, blame Eddie Van Halen. It's kind of his idea. It's a pretty solid design, just treat it like a regular truss rod. Righty-tighty, Lefty-Loosey!

FYI - Music Man basses have the same truss rod adjustment (at least mine does). The Music Man ones don't have a cutout at the end on the neck though.
Just slip an allen wrench in and adjust away... |
