Vacation in Ocean City Maryland

Just got back from Ocean City MD. Great beach and waves. Great crab cakes and sites(wink). People playing guitar on the boardwalk. Owner of the diner comes up to me and sees my guitar tee shirt. He says he has a 59 les paul that was left to him by his grand mother. She played in a country band. He tells me its in"under the bed" condition. I think I just found my new retirement place.

My dad just told me he's selling the Ocean City homestead (on 99th street, lol). The memories go back over three decades in that condo.

The first time I went to Ocean City was June, 1968. I was born a month earlier.

I use to live in Howard County, MD and my family and I would vacation in Ocean City regularly. It's a great place and we miss it. I wish we had bought a condo there about 10 years ago when we had an opportunity.

I have been in OC, MD a couple of times to visit a friend who owns a condo (57th street) there. Nice beaches and nice people.

Great place, but somtimes too busy in the summer and practically empty off season..

I like Irie Radio though!

It's a pretty good place to live September-May, and June-August makes that possible, so we deal with it!

It used to turn into a ghost town in the winter, but not anymore. Lots of good restaurants and bars stay open year-round, and stay somewhat busy. Not summer high season busy, but busy enough to stay in business!

The absolutely best time here is September, though. Everything is still open, the weather is usually wonderful, and the ocean water is at it's warmest. It's sweet!!!

Cheers, Tim

Also, room rates drop by about 50% right after Labor Day. I always used to vacation there the second week of September, prices had dropped, everything was still open and the water was still warm enough to swim.
