A couple of expensive or sentimental ones rarely see the light of day but my beater guitars have all the marks that show how much they are loved.
One Ventura sat out on the patio one night in the rain. The next morning I tried to shake out most of the water and angled a blowdrier in the hole for an hour or so. None the worse for the wear. Great guitars those Venturas.

Yup same here, I have a couple of guitars that are "in storage" because I don't play them or because I wasn't able to sell them (Building guitars yourself has a downside when it comes to selling them on.)

I have a special corner that no one goes near. I keep a guitar stand there and that's where my current favorite player sits. All the other guitars stay in their cases.
In fact, I keep the R7, Firebird and USA Strat in the case no matter what but I mostly play the Highway One and CV Teles anyway. |

Two on the stands, everything else cased.
I never leave a cord plugged into a guitar on a stand ever since somebody tripped over a cord...wasn't too bad, but it will never happen again! |

I'd love to be able to leave them out on stands, always ready to go, but there's a little too much traffic going through my basement....wife with a laundry basket usually followed by my 85 lb American Bulldog who will never be mistaken for a seeing eye dog

Sometimes they're all in their cases, sometimes one or two are out, right now they're all out except for my acoustic.
I try to be unpredictable! Cheers, Tim |

The last one out turns the lights off.

ahh, I do have a few that stay in cases unless they are in my hands -
most specifically my most-beloved acoustic, a '67 Gibson J-200. I did knock over my early 70's Les Paul Deluxe.. um, anybody got a good repair shop tip in the greater Chicagoland area for one badly cracked LP neck fix-up? it's not broken off but it isn't playable either. sad, sad, sad. feel free to PM me if anybody's had decent repair work done recently and could point me in that direction as well. Fenders, they can take a heck of a beating - but knock over a Gibson just once and watch the headstock snap right off. I've also about five or six more guitars than cases although I've got even more gig bags than I do un-cased guitars!

Once I'm done with it for the day, back to the case it goes.
