Is Anyone Truly Working Today?

I am sitting in front of my desk and doing as little as possible. By the way, youtube has video of a dog jumping off a fishing boat and biting a decent sized shark some guy was reeling in. God bless the Internet!

castpolymer ??!!

How about that resin market?? Will the increases never end? I love helping the salespeople prepare quotations that are obsolete in two weeks.....the pile of insanity on my desk never ends.

Working today? No. Thinking about work? Yes.

I need to take the kids to movie.

Teaching my first college class ever at 4:00. It'll be fun and I'm not stressing because I've been teaching high school for 5 years, but yes, I'll be working for real.

Wow, another lover of the smell of resin on a Tele forum! What part of our fine industry do you work in? I buy cultured marble casting resin by the tanker and I am still taking a increase every 3 - 4 months. My rep. came by the other day with one of those crappy " corporate presents." It was soap on a rope ( just kidding ). If you are looking for a good movie, The Hulk was pretty good ( I am also a comic book geek ).

Yep, four hours here, then to a gig this afternoon at Kruger's Farm. No more gigs for July as our drummer is off to Germany for three weeks to visit his daughter.

I work at home. My boss is the drummer in the band. He wants me to cook for his party on Saturday, I told him I had to go get ingredients.

He said "ok."

Yup. And tomorrow too - July 4 is just another day outside the USA. Well, nearly - I'm doing an "Independence Day" gig (i.e. any excuse for a booze-up) tomorrow night at a place well known to be rougher than a badger's butt. (Dicey Reilly's in Neasden for all you UK connoisseurs). Remember me in your prayers!

Packaging Distribution.....materials and equipment. I'm a sales manager/engineer. If a printer needs to feed sets of paper onto backer boards and then send them through a high speed shrink system with a check weigher and auto stacker....(etc). I integrate the hardware and hopefully sell the consumables along with a maintenance contract. We do shrink, stretch, strapping, labeling, case erecting, packing and sealing. We do skin packs, blister, clam shell, poly roll stock, poly bags, bundling poly. We do Hytrol conveyor and integrate lots of toys with it.

I'm a 24 year packaging geek. I drove a forklift for a packaging distributor in college and never left the industry.

I saw castpolymer and my eyes bugged out.

Have a great day...take a long lunch.

John

Working at home, as I pretty much do at least 3 days a week now...checking work e-mail on the PC lapper with my left hand, pecking at the Powerbook with my right, and got my Thinline on my lap! Hot cuppa joe and the mood is chill...

Hey guys! Another guy here in the plastics industry - I do accounting, IT, and reasearch work for a plastics recycler, dealing mainly with polyethylenes.

Speaking of work, I'm on my lunch break right now, but it's been pretty busy today. Trying to get caught up so I won't be slammed on Monday.

Hey Coffeemutt, are you a big Love and Rockets fan? Truly one of the most underated alt bands of the 80's. I was lucky enough to see them twice in the 80's ( and once as Tones on Tail ). I met Dan Ash in a bar in Boulder and a few friends and I had some( ok, many ) beers with him. He was very cool and could drink like a Brit! He also let us pick up tab ( possible Scottish ancestory ). By the way, you should hear the Church's " Reptile " thru a DRRI with a Tele. Sweet!

Ahhh, man! I'm jealous. I was huge into L&R back in the late 80's, but starting losing interest after "So Alive" blew up everywhere. Just recently started listening to them again (I still have my cassettes of Seventh Dream of Teenage Heaven; Express; Earth, Sun, Moon and Love and Rockets - definitely underrated. My 9 year old digs "Yin and Yang The Flowerpot Man"

" Mrs. Robinson, you making me very nervous." Great stuff! George Carlin has a bit called " Saving the Planet " on youtube that is hilarious about plastic. Man, that guy was great. I would put it up here, but I am totally computer ignorant ( I just learned how to email a picture two weeks ago ).

I wish I could say i was goofing off, but it's just the opposite (I'm reading the TDPRI during a short and late lunch break. I'm taking off a few days next week, so I'm wrapping up some deadlines today. I'll be happy if I get out of work by 6:00 or 7:00.

I am going to really enjoy my time off.

I'm doing nothing. This is my first week of being retired and all I do is spend my dammm time at this fruitless site (just kidding, Paul!), reading posts about wannabe teles, and jazz boxes for free ... :)

In retrospect, I miss posts by Reggie Young, and Mr. "Ho" (God rest his soul), and especially that dude in California with the peculiar writing impediment, and with the biggest collection of Tele's I've ever seen anywhere, not to mention his muscle car project!!

I'm firing up my new charcoal bbq this weekend, and thinking about a life that's easily halfway gone, and savouring the good moments because that's the measure of it: beware, you don't get a whole lot of chances. Make the most of what you got, and pax to all.

As the Greeks' like to say, ENJOY!!!!!!! Life can be too short. Geez, the sangria's catching up with me........

Anyway, you Americans have a great long weekend, eh! from up here in the "land of ice and snow." lol

Caio.

I'm working. But my wife? Well her company surprised em all today:

They get there and there are 4 fancy Mercedes Benz touring buses in the parking lot. Everyone is told to punch in, and get on the bus. They take em to the swaggiest OC Golf Club, pay for everything, and right now, their probably unbuttoning that top button on there trowsers as they belch from digesting the bacon wrapped Filet Mignon, Crab Cakes, and assorted veggie Lunch, with dessert to boot!

I really dont like my company that much right now..............
