Going to see Les Paul

Well, my leave starts on Monday...19 days off!

We're going to San Diego for a week to visit my parents, then my wife, kids, and I are flying back to NJ/NY for 1.5 weeks to visit the rest of the families. It's been close to 10 years since we've been back east. BUT!!! My wife was surfing the web and found out that Les Paul is going to be playing while we're out there and she agreed to go with me and see him!

I know he's about 187 years old, but it's still Les Paul! I am really excited!

For all you NY/NJ guys...how much has the area changed over the past 10 years? I gre up in Whitehouse Station, NJ - between Flemington and Sommerville. We're going to visit our families in Kearny, Harrison, and Mineola, Long Island.

What should I be on the lookout for?

Thanks,
Doug

My wife and I and another couple did this two years ago. It is a great show, you will not be disappointed. Les is still great and he has some of the best musicians in New York playing with him. He's a riot to boot. Enjoy.

Les plays every Monday night at the Iridium Jazz Club on Broadway and 51st Street in NYC. Two shows, I believe. It's across the street from my office but I have yet to go.

As for what to "be on the lokoout for" where? NY, NJ???

Does he still do the show at the Blue Note?

How cool that you'll see him. Have a great time.

My wife went to a garment convention at the Javits Center years ago and I came alone just for fun. We almost went to see Les in between 5 days of walking the show at the Javits and for some reason we just mellowed out the last two days....we skipped the Lep Paul show. Now we have kids and everything is more complicated when we travel east.

We should have seen Les. Stupid me.

Enjoy the city and end enjoy the show.

Speaking of the city and music (and our family). Me and our older boy.....

I live 10 miles from Waukesha WI. We name streets after Les here......

I think he just does this one show at Iridium, but I'm not 100% sure.
