Hey guys, I just ate a fairly large bowl of homemade candied yams. This could get a bit 'earthy' around here... I can already feel the 'pot boiling'....

I would kill for a case of those. Just not diet...
I had a Bacon and Spam sandwich this morning. I fried the bacon & spam together, then buttered some bread and toasted that in the pan with some mayo and sliced cheese on it, put two thick slices of SPAM on each piece of bread with bacon in between. I highly recommend it to anyone.

(wonders why Bucky resuscitated this horrifying thread, and what kind of punishment should be meted out... then shrugs and goes back to sleep...)

time for some food! Cooked Cabbage Boys!
I'd add some side meat or a rasher of bacon... this along with the beer will keep the cabin warm all night! Ingredients 2 tablespoons butter or margarine 1 tablespoon canola oil 8 cups shredded green cabbage (about 1 normal-sized head) 1 tablespoon packed brown sugar 3-4 garlic cloves, minced (I use 4) 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar salt fresh ground black pepper Directions 1In a large skillet, heat butter and oil over medium heat; add cabbage, garlic and brown sugar to pan. 2Sauté until the cabbage is limp, about 5 minutes or so. 3Reduce heat to medium-low and stir in vinegar. 4Cook, stirring very often, for approximately 20 minutes; taste and if cabbage is too crunchy for you, continue to cook for a few more minutes. 5Add salt and pepper to taste and serve.
