Man, the opening song in that Unicorn live set ("Instrumental") is just incredible... You know how in a musical they have the "prelude" with a snippet of each tune to give you an idea of what's coming? Well, the Butter Band does the same sort of thing, piecing together 4-5 snippets of tunes before segueing into "Look Over Yonders Wall"... Just pure class... |

I remember going nuts when the 1st Butterfield LP came out. I had never heard a guitar played like that before. Bloomfield recorded the first Butterfield LP with a Tele plugged into a prototype Guild Thunderbird amp. If ya can find it - there is a Butterfield boot called Dropping In which has the entire '65 Newport performance on it as well as other live cuts. Lordy, I miss Bloomfield.
