Dennis Wilson "Pacific Ocean Blue" Reissued!!!

Maybe I'm a bit slow on the uptake, but I only just discovered that Dennis Wilson's only solo album, "Pacific Ocean Blue" has just been reissued on CD (as of the 17th of June).

It's a two CD package with the second disc containing an unreleased album, "Bambu" that was made after P.O.B., then scrapped.

I'm excited, REALLY EXCITED! I fell in love with this album instantly! I love the Beach Boys work and this has that Beach Boys flavour, but it's grittier, cooler, darker, sadder than anything the Beach Boys ever produced!

Anyone else love this album as much as I do? Anyone have this new 2CD edition?

If you haven't heard this album, I suggest you go out and get yourself a copy, you won't regret it!

As a rule I'd rather get the plague than anything Beach Boy related.
This however is the exception.
Thanks for the heads up.

"Bambu" is what I'm really after. I'll be getting the CD for my birthday, whilst I'll be buying one for my brother as well.

Thanks to all for the heads up on this.

I have it already, I've had Pacific Ocean Blue for a while (I downloaded it) but this reissue is great. Fantastic sound quiality. The songs are absoloubtly brilliant and it's one of my all time favourite albums. Thoughts of you is awesome. The bass harmonica and bass vocals sound great, and often in some places like early Zappa. Taylor Hawkins has added vocals to Holy Man aswell. I'd definately reccomend it. The CD packaging is great too, full colour booklet and fold out bits and all sorts. Like I said, one of my all time favourites!

I got Pacific Ocean Blue by Dennis Wilson last week from Amazon. I pre-ordered as soon as I'd heard they were finally releasing it. It really is a very good album. I think it may actually be the best solo release from any of The Beach Boys, including any of Brian's solo efforts to date (all of which I have). Dennis was a real talent... a talented songwriter, good singer (his POB vocals remind me of Elvis Costello), and actually better at Piano/Keyboards than he was at drums. He was underrated for sure. It's a shame he couldn't "get it together" personally and health-wise.

Great album, RIP Dennis.
