I find considering Tim McGraw country and western specious at best!
My opinions (which is all they are) are about people who would tend to want to go to a Tim McGraw show... not a whole genre, not a region of a country, not any other geographic entity. So, please don't infer that as it would be counter to my intention. Since you don't actually know me nor I you, don't make the mistake of thinking that the geography in my profile would have anything to do with my geographic heritage. So, again, since I never mentioned Country and Western but did most definitely mention Tug's son... lets limit it where I limited it... anything else would be manipulative (regardless of the heavy handedness) and the whole archie bunker reference was laughable except I think maybe you might believe it. Do whatever spinning you feel you need to, to whatever purpose suits you....

Let's be realistic here. Tim did not know that he was Tug McGraw's son until he was 11 years old. He went to meet him and Tug disavowed him as his son. When he turned 18 Tug finally accepted that Tim was his son. Tim went to Nashville but he got his record deal because Tug was friends with the CEO of Curb records.
I am not trying to be negative here but nepotism did it's job. I personally think that if it weren't for pitch correction he would never have made it past demo. Right after Hurricane Katrina they did a commercial with a bunch of celebs singing "Dixie". He was in a boat without his studio tools and he couldn't hold a note in a bucket. They soon took it off the air. He really does try to appeal to the "red-neck" demographic. He doesn't wear those "wife-beaters" himself without reason. Attachment 12912 This one I put in for me because I think it says more than anyone can. Attachment 12913

GetBent,
Admittedly, I don't listen to current music on the radio anymore. What I know about Tug McGraw's son comes from Wiki and they listed him as "country". What ever happened to the "Western" part? Anyway.. GetBent, I've come to enjoy your posts as you impress me with your broad knowledge of music and guitars, but expected a bit more tact from you. Eggman PS: Freddie:I'm a Special needs teacher as well! |
