Gar,
Ponder for a moment, the folks who see an ad for a Tim McGraw show and think (I am using the language very loosely) "Dang, man, that would be a kick ass show! I'm gonna buy some tickets for that sucker!" (I avoided many potentially offensive but funny colloquialisms in this quote) So, given this relatively stratified audience... it is of high likelihood that this crowd would A) Hit women B) Be hammered C) Steal from the headliner D) have a headliner who might have a wife who would throw hands over a romantic overture which consisted of grasping a schlong (I think that is considered the direct approach) E) Have a hit song to 'honor' a group of people and actually offend them. F) when most of the crowd (girls included) wear 'wife beater' tshirts.

Given that overall 'community' all of the above actions are not only understandable, but to be expected. I think one of the most touching articles ever in People magazine was when Tim McGraw was reunited with his father Tug (the baseball pitcher) who had essentially fathered Tim in a one nighter.

Classy stuff all the way around! woo hoo!

Yeah. Given the type of folks attracted to go to a show like that maybe it was just Ned Beatty trying to get away from the very bad man.

I guess I just get suspicious when it seems to happen so much to Faith and he. As I said, the conspiracist in me is piqued. It just seems that at every concert he is in a tussle with one of his fans.
Did you ever read about Tracy Lawrence getting shot in Nashville before his deal?
But I agree that the story of his dad and he was truly touching. I guess Tug knew about him for a long time and kind of rejected the poor guy.
I saw a program about it one time somewhere and it sounded like Tug had fooled around a little.
Heck of baseball player.

He got onto the stage so easily because that's where he wanted to be, on stage with the star.
I don't think it's staged, too much liability.
What if some other guy in the audience pounded him before Tim M. stepped in.

That was so friggin staged. He grabs the guy by the hand to pull him on stage. He can't break free from Tim's handhold? The guy takes a couple of tries to jump up on the stage.

Tim winds up to punch the guy? With the microphone in the same hand? What kind of blow will this deliver?

The Band doesn't miss a note, and he goes right back to singing right on cue.

The guy getting led off the stage waves his hat at the crowd.

Let's see the footage 5 minutes later when the guy is back in the audience.

Best thing about Tim McGraw ... ?

His father was a very good pitcher and helped the Mets get to (and almost win) the 1973 World Series.

I remember the night Johnny Carson asked Tug, "Do you prefer astro turf or natural grass"? Tug replied, "I don't know, I never smoked astro turf"!

Staged

Tim McGraw a real cowboy.... uh ok...

It just stinks for McGraw that we have YouTube. Now he can't rescue a lady in the next city!

Oh and ain't funny how Tug McGraw reunites with his long lost son AFTER he makes it big. Hmmm....

It was Trace Adkins who was shot, by his ex, and still has the bullet in his chest.
Tracy Lawrence was the one arrested a few years back for beating up his girlfriend, at the blackjack table, in the Casino near my house. It was big news out here for a while, he was already on probation for domestic battery at the time.

I don't think the video is a set up, at least not on purpose. When you have a wasted redneck wearing a wife-beater shirt on stage, it just kind of attracts more of the same, and sh*t happens.

I'm not sure. The rowdy, most likely very drunk guy having a "jerry springer" moment and jumping up on stage for all the glory is entirely plausible, as is the idea that Tim McG could do this in each city and really boost his cowboy cred... Until somebody with a camera phone & youtube foils his plans!!! D'oh!

Either way it makes for great entertainment, and that's what those people are paying for. WWE indeed.

Hi,

The horse incident is a famous one with us fans. It was Tim and Kenny
Chesney (who it's said were both drunk) that took a police officer's horse out for a ride lol....um.. They didn't ask first lol... In all fairness the police over reacted and tried to give them prison time for it. I like those two and I like their music.

Staged?!!! Hey, this is Auburn, Washington, baby. That kind of stuff happens in trailer parks just outside of town every night-- it's called foreplay. The crowd was cheering for the fat guy-- not McGraw... get it straight, guys!

I think he "liked" McGraw a little too much...

He was probably hammered enough that he thought Tim was pulling him up in a friendly way. It does appear that his mood changes drastically once he figures out he's been hauled out because Tim's pissed off.

I dunno. On the one hand, it's nice to see him stand up for a lady. On the other hand, he still sucks.

Me thinks Tug's greatest moment came as a Phillie. He was an integral part of our one championship (1980), He will always be a Phillie to me. (We have to hold onto something).

I think the dude was SO drunk he thought he was Courteney Cox, and that Tim was The Boss, and he was about to be pulled up on stage for some good ol' fashioned Dancin' in the Dark!

Im a tribal memeber, grew up just off one of the largest rez the U.S. has, grew up with sweats, powwows and very seclusive (meaning no white ppl allowed to even know the location) sundances and would like to say not for a second does that song offend me or anyone I have known.
Infact you wanna watch a whole town of rowdy Natives get up and start dancin in Interior S.D. or anyother rezervation town, play that song. If anything its more offensive to me what non native folks seem to like to tell us whats offensive to us, but this is my personal opinion. Even more offensive to me is that Tim Mcgraw and cowboy is used in same sentance, haha. Or the tub of lard who got on stage.
I used to be highly offended that Faith married Tim and didnt wait for me but thats over since she seems a bit touched in the last few years.

I'm not really into Pop Country or WWF, but I'm a big fan of finally seeing concerts and Jerry Springer combined.

Perhaps next we could have Britney and Amy Winehouse on stage fighting over the last gram? I'd pay $50 to see that.
