One of my all time favorite guitar players. The stuff he did with Paul Desmond was so sweet..

Interesting piece of footage. There's a striking resemblance between a young Ed and Steve Martin, in profile at least.
It seems to me that Ed got sort of 'tongue tied' on his short solo there. Funny to see him playing anything but a Tele. I spent alot of nights in the early '80's listening to Ed at George's Spaghetti House and various other locations. What a great guy!!

Thanks for posting.
Yeah he does look like Steve Martin. Different seeing him without the tele. I got to see him with Moe and Dizzy in the early 80's which was a treat. I had most of his stuff. and loved his work with Desmond, and later on with Rosemary Clooney on Concord Records. What a talent! |

Hard to believe that he uses roundwound 10's with a plain 3rd on his Tele!
