Do you have one of these in your attic??$$$
Approximately 1,600 were made and only 600 are accounted for. Maybe your granny's got one in the root cellar.
I feel like going on a treasure hunt!!

We have a 59 335 in our museum that I would dearly love to play on stage, but nothing in the attic.......maybe I'll check my basement.
p.s. The guy in the video that says, "The Sunburst Les Pauls I deal in are generaly worth $5000 to $10,000." has a small used store called Third Eye Music here in MO.

Pete Townsend probably destroyed a couple.
I never liked those videos of The Who destroying their gear. I guess they really did have substance abuse problems and/or were/are just plain stupid. As for someone paying $400,000 for a guitar, I hope they have a substance abuse problem so it can explain why they paid so much money. Then again, people paid 5 figures for court-side seats at the Staples Center during the NBA Finals. The ways of capitalism and freedom.

Keep in mind, the astronomic gain 59-60 Lesters have enjoyed....I know of one guy who paid "stupid money" for his...$175K or so a few years back...within 3-4 years it was fetching double his original outlay. And again...if someone has the disposable income....why not? It'll only go up in value. |

Ya' know, I think I saw one of those in my grandpa's basement last year and it was kinda' nicked up. So we just used it to kindle the fire for a weenie roast. Do ya' really think it was worth anything?

The 'bursts price may top out pretty soon, but a super clean no issue/all original example with original color is easily fetching $400,000-500,000.It's hard to find one without issues for under $200,000,although I think Christpher Cross's old one went for around $150,000.
I got lucky in '77 and found this one for $1000. ![]()

Eh I just came across 1,000 of them under a box of old National Geographic magazines. Think I'll sell them for $1 at a garage sale. Flood the market with them. Those ones that people paid $400,000 for will be worth less than a Squier. Suckers.

What do they mean by only 600 accounted for?, I'm sure the people that own one know that they have it. I mean, the dealers only know of 600 because they are used by visible musicians or those people that get notoriety by owning one, puting it in a magazine or book.
I love it in the history of gibson book the Les Paul on the cover is named after the guy that owns it, give me a break. The Depra Burst or something like that. They have become bling bling that your can't wear. My 2cents. |
