The only truly classic rock tune that made any sort of huge splash was Maggie May, although the others mentioned here are pretty good as well. We tried Copperhead Road but the guitar player just couldn't get his parts. If you have a piano in your band you might want to consider Boogie for Stu by Zep. Nice bouncy tune and a great mandolin riff that runs through it.
