Glad the dog didn't get hurt, he sure saved that lummox bullfighters butt. I can't imagine one of those bully breeds latching on to my ankle and not letting go. I hear that bull terriers are great with family and kids but not other dogs, anybody have one?

i have two ameican pit bull terriers, which are great dogs and as a breed are great with all dogs if they are properly socialized. that whole video reeks of animal exploitation (why was the bull out there being taunted anyway??)), but the bully breeds (staffordshire terriers, american pits, american staffordshires, staffordshire bull terriers, bull terriers, american bull dogs) were bred to fight other dogs and for bull and bear baiting (which is exactly what that dog is doing, its not defending the people so much as it is doing exactly what it was bred for). As for biting your ankle and not letting go, the whole "lock jaw" thing is entirely a myth. Tenacious is what the bully breeds are to their core. Sweetest, smarterest, strongest, most fearless, funniest, most loyal and most abused animals i have ever met.

I agree T-RED, Bullfighting is something I never agreed with and really would feel more sorry for the bull or the dog than that idiot bullfighter if any of them got hurt. I was thinking of getting a Bull Terrier some day, every one I ever encounted seemed very playful. A boss from a prior job had one that would grab a piece of garden hose and challenge anyone to a tug of war
The human, including me always gave up before the dog did. Tenacious is a good way to describe them for sure.

They're awesome dogs for sure, expensive lil F-ers though, haha. You don't exactly find them at the local pound. One time, a guy came into the spca where my girl works and asked "do you guys have any english pit bulls?? the one thats in the target commercial?" Everyone kinda bit their tongue and politely said that they never get those in (pretty rare anywhere) and to check a breed rescue or a breeder.
