Those look great! I don't see how they can sell them with case for that price?

WOW !!! nice looking ,I'd love to try one . I wonder how nice that neck is , for that price you could throw in some new pickups. Anybody have any experience with Rondo strats.

I have the SST ASH that's not gloss finish. It plays VERY well. It did take some time to innotate but that was partially due to the trem bridge. I readjusted the pickup height a few times and now I have a very good "quack" in the 2 & 4 positions. I paid $141 shipped for mine. Eventually I plan on putting GFS pups in it but even stock it is well worth the price.

My guess is that they make a minimal profit off each guitar, but instead end up selling volumes. I have bought 2 guitars in the last 2 weeks from Rondo, and don't see how they do it either. However someone mentioned on this forum that they are supposedly shipping 100+ guitars a day, so I figure they are only making $10-20 off each guitar, but when you sell 100+ a day, it adds up, as opposed to trying to make a larger profit off each unit, and perhaps not selling as many total units per day.

I have been looking at those for like a month trying to resist the urge. I can hardly justify it with 18 guitars already, and no room to put another. I do think the finish is gorgeous though. I think the main thing holding me back would be an almost instant desire to replace the pickups with something decent, which would double the price right off the bat.

I got this from a review :

Pro: Pickups
These were the biggest surprise to me. From the moment I plugged the SX SST 57 into my Fender Hot Rod DeVille I become conscious I had stumbled upon something extraordinary. These pickups sound magnificent! Yes - I said magnificent! Playing clean, you have “THE” classic Strat sound in all 5 switch positions. If you close your eyes and just listen to its sound you’ll swear this was an American Strat. With all 3 distortions I tried (DOD Death Metal, Digitech Hot Rod, and built-in overdrive) I was able to generate a wide variety of blues and classic rock tones. This is one economy guitar you do not have to upgrade the pickups on! As with most single coils, they do suffer from typical hum but nothing out of the ordinary.

hmmm... you never know...

I don't think you understand how ridiculously low the wholesale price on those things are. I checked into importing some (similar strat copies) I found them as low as $40 ea., from china, min. order was 400. I'm sure you could shave some off if you were to order 2-3k of them. I don't know what Kurt is paying for the SX brand, wholesale exactly but I'd bet it's around $80-$90 with case.

If that was me, I didn't exactly say "100+" though that may happen at times.

I forgot exactly what Kurt and I were discussing at the time. Oh, I remember. The online purchase form said my PayPal account and zip code didn't match. (?) So, I asked if he could pull my order out and correct the info. And he replied something to the effect that they ship close to a hundred guitars a day and were in essence too busy to modify one specific order.
