Garrison Guitars purchaser Gibson Guitars voids all Garrison Warranties

I just saw this posted on Harmony Central's Forum and thought some of you might own Garrison Guitars. There has to be more than what can be seen:

Garrison Guitars purchaser Gibson Guitars voids all Garrison Warranties

That's lousy, but someone who conducted the sale from Garrison's side dropped the ball there, it seems.

Of course, if Garrison was bought as an alternative to going under, the same thing would have happened had they gone under.

On the other hand, maybe Gibson knows something we don't. Maybe Garrison turned out a lot of lemons and was overburdened with warranty work.

Still, you'd think a big player like Gibson would not want this sort of press.

Wow, I just finished reading the whole thread over there. Neither Gibson nor Garrison come out looking good so far. Another issue that pops up toward the end is that the fiberglass bracing system that was unique to Garrison guitars may have lead to a high rate of backs and tops splitting. When the wood shrank with seasonal changes, the bracing didn't and cracks resulted.

I don't know anything about Garrison guitars. I just found it interesting to read the thread after all the negatives I'm always seeing about the HC Forums--and those negatives match with what I have seen the few times I looked in over there. That was a very intelligently written, rationally discussed thread I thought, especially considering some of the participants were getting screwed.

The date on those posts is Sept/2007. Shouldn't most of this all be settled out already?
