Counting Crows New Release

A while back I mentioned that the new Coutning Crows didn't do anything for me and I included them as one of the bands I had grown away from. After listening to it a few more times I need to retract that statement. It is a really good CD. I think it was so different from the Red Dirt stuff I've been listening to lately that it caught me off guard, or it is what I friend of mine calls a "Fungus CD" It has to grow on you.

I didn't know they had a new record out, I'll have to check it out.

After getting addicted to the first record (August and Everything After), I really went nuts for Recovering the Satellites, I think it's one of the best records ever made.

They lost me for a while, but I kept hearing one or two good songs from each record. Not enough to make me buy a whole record, but good stuff none the less.

Is there anything from their back catalog that you could comapre the new record to? What's it called?

Thanks,
Jake

i haven't heard much of their music, but I'm looking forward to hearing it whenever I go see Maroon 5 in concert in September.

Live on a Wire is my fav material from them - but I cannot get into this new cd. Sounds way too polished.
