Snake Oil Brand strings

Just got a couple of sets of these to try... the rock formula 10-46's. All I can say is that i wish i hadn't. These strings are freaking incredible. The difference between the harmonic response and feel of the SOB strings and ANY string i've EVER tried is just amazing. Now i have to buy more and they can only be ordered. *sigh* Anyone else try these before?

I've been using Snake Oil strings for several months, but last night I used a set of Fender strings at the gig. They did the job just fine even though they didn't feel as good as the Snake Oils.

I LOVE high end stuff, but I just don't hear a significant difference between different good quality strings. The SOB strings feel great, but they're twice as much as GHS burnished (my all time favorite strings for feel and tone) and delivery goes through VERY iffy stages.

If Snake Oil strings were $6 per set and had a reliable delivery system I'd probably use them all the time.

Rhino-- Totally agree with you on the GHS Burnished Nickels. I've been using them for 5 or 6 years.

I had a custom set made up for my Rickenbacker 12 string. The best sounding strings ever on that guitar. I'll never use Pyramids again.

Great Strings but...

These are Fantastic strings, but the last 2 times I ordered some they took about a month to get. My current order has not arrived and I cant get a reply as to where they are.
Aside from order issues, the sound of my EJ Strat w/SOBs is greatly improved. I was amazed when I switched to another brand because I didnt feel like waiting for the SOBs. Maybe their are authorized dealers who would get them faster.

Been using the Lt Jazz Vintage 12-54 for a couple years. I paypal them and never have waited more than 2 weeks, even have received them in 5 days clear out here in nowhere's alaska. I think it must be that nobody orders the 12-54's, Dean has them in stock. I order 5-10 set at a time, never run out; change them every 3 weeks. Dean has emailed me a time or two, offering to mix & match; pretty good guy actually. Talk nice to people and they usually treat you right, I figure.

I just luv SOB's. Everytime I try another brand, they come off the nx day and back with the snake oils. Maybe it's all in my head, but I believe everything about SOBs is better.

Machine troubles I guess

Day 39: still havent received SOBs. I did manage to get an email response stating that the 10s had a manufacturing fault because of unraveling.

Ill have to try some of these strings, but I got to say. I love my ernie ball power slinkys. Available everywhere, cheap, and last a long time.

I gave up on Snakeoil and went with Dr Ducks. They sound cool! Anyone know who makes these? I mean who REALLY makes them.

My first two sets took 2-3 months to get. After the first month, I emailed (twice) and got a reply about material shortage. Another month no contact (two) emails later and he says he already shipped musta got lost.
They are currently in my parts drawer as emergency only use; I dare not get attached to them.
