Recent Jeff Healey recording/vid

Here is a track from the new record. Funny story about this.

It was recorded live in the UK early last summer. Someone who was at the gig videotaped the show and stuck it up on youtube. Someone else who had bought the record synchronized the fully produced audio with the handheld video footage. Neat.

This is a bit of a preview of what jeff's postumous record "Mess of Blues" is like.

I just love the way Jeff builds the solo. It starts out very much like a vintage jazz thing, all civilized and ornate, with microtonal bends and frilly little turnarounds, and builds up over a couple minutes to complete mayhem at the end, beatin' the hell out of that Twin and just SCREAMING.

His vocals are great too.

At that point in his life, due to all the health issues, he was not playing a lot of guitar, and none at all except when onstage at gigs. You would NEVER know it.

Very nice!

I've seen a clip of Jeff with Randy Bachman doing "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". Is it from the same show?

cheers,
Geoff

Yep, same show.

I thought Randy's playing was really weak on that, but i have also seen him really tear it up recently.
