Attn: Cropper/MG's fans

Here's a link to the Stax website where you can download the unreleased 1978 album "Free Ride". This was actually recorded post Stax, I guess when Fantasy owned the label.

Very cool. I'm listening now. It seems more relaxed than when they were at their peak, and lacks some of the vitality and energy that is part of their best music, but it's still pretty good.

By the way, whoever made the page goofed and didn't make a link to tracks 2 or 9, but they're both there. Here are the links:

Thanks for the links to the extra 2 songs eryque! I'd already burned a CD with the 10 songs. Guess I'll burn me nother one with all 12.

Thanks for the links! Wish those weren't Windows Media files, though. Now I have to try and remember how to convert them to MP3 on my Mac...

Thanks again, though.

I was just listening to Booker T & the MGs on my iBook (the tracks from the Stax/Volt box set [the greatest box set ever]) when I clicked on this thread.

Many thanks to Teleclarkster and Uncle Al.

What a great sound!

Thanks! Downloading now!

My fave albums "of theirs" are Melting Pot, With little help from my friends and Stax instrumentals. Yes, only the first is really Booker T & MGs...
