Sonny's new CD with guest stars Mark Knopfler, Eric Clapton, Vince Gill, Eric Johnson, Robben Ford, Dr John and Jimmy Buffet comes out tomorrow

He is my favorite slide guitarist right now . He has amazing technical ability and an awesome groove and feel . Not a bad voice either ... I'm buying it when it comes out later today if I can find it ..

sonny landreth rocks !
saw john hiatt and the goners with sonny landreth a couple of years ago - one of the best live shows i've ever seen and i've been to hundreds of concerts - i have since seen john hiatt with the north mississippi all stars and in a solo/acoustic setting and both of those were really good shows they lacked the magic we witnessed when hiatt and landreth were together on stage - i have sonny's south of i-10 cd and will be looking for his new release - thanks for the heads up ! - i'm not a complete idiot ... some parts are missing - |

Thanks for the heads up. Amazon has a special offer of Sonny's new one along with John Hiatt's new cd + dvd for $32. Two of my favorites. Half the music I buy comes from getting on this board.

Sonny is insane -- what he plays is what i hear in my head. unfortunately, i can't play a lick of slide -- no matter how much i practiced, it sucked. best i can do is emulate the melodies/phrasing with bent notes.
