I'm shocked...

GC has two guitars that are actually in tune?

I can understand how Johnny H. plays so great because he obviously borrows Redd Volkaert's forearms when Redd's not using them. I wonder how I can get on the list?

And two guys who can actually play them instead of all that shredding that normally assults your ears.

I'm surprised they weren't thrown out on their arses for killing sales! (just kidding).

I'd be so intimidated by seeing that, there's no way I'd even consider picking up a guitar and noodling.

Well Sorta...

I was stationed in Lakehurst, NJ in the 80's and used to go to Garden State Music alot and the staff was the guy's from Skid Row. One time Zakk Wylde was there and they were all tearin it up Heavy Metal Style. Kinda funny when I think back on it.

At Manny's in NYC, Clapton, Hendrix, the Dead, etc. would check out guitars.

My mother was offered a job there way back when but she didn't take it.

I've never forgiven her for that.

It's kind of sad to realize that each of us has played every one of those notes, just not in that order, and that has made all the difference.

real guitar players at gc - what a concept !
usually avoid gc like the plague - the few times i've been in there it was filled with teens making death metal sound even worse or torturing their way through a power chord version of smoke on the water - i guess thats why gc employees are so cranky -

- i'm not a complete idiot ... some parts are missing -

The GCs in my area usually are chocked full of dudes playing 7 stringed Ibanezes through Marshalls with the Mid turned down to zero & the Drive on 11. The saddest part about that clip...notice how no one in the store really seem interested .

Friggin' just tell me when the solo's over so we do the rest of the song".

The Number 1 reason I refuse to go into the joint.
Even a crooked used car dealer has enough sense to keep his stable tuned up.

True Love, ....
My son walks in while I'm watching this video and says "Dad, you're better than them"
While greatful for the compliment, I realize my son has a lot to learn about real pickers...

And yet...I hear the atonal squawking of high-gain electric guitars start up as soon as their last note fades away...

Nice clip!

This guy is always at GC when I go there. I dare you to listen to the full 7:04 minutes, I made it through 42 seconds. At least he is having fun, that's what it's all about. But he's also the reason that I have never plugged into an amp at GC.

I really gotta hand it to Country pickers that can play like that.

A Blues/Rock guy like myself can't even wrap my brain around one measure of what they were doing.

I am not a big Country fan, but MAN! Hats off to guys like this. I am really impressed.

What a great video! Unfortunately I now feel like quitting. Oh well. Maybe I can just play pick up sticks instead.

But they didn't play "Stairway to Heaven" or "Eruption" or "Smells Like Teen Spirit." So, it must not have been Guitar Center.

You know, the higher up you go on the neck of a guitar, the less I like the timbre. It's like someone straining to reach a note. But I guess I also like low notes; I'm even thinking of getting a baritone guitar. LOL After that, I suppose it's on to 7- and 8-string guitars.
