Myth -- Never burn bridges

People say you should never burn bridges. I respectfully disagree. Sometimes you should burn them, and burn 'em good! Remember, it's never wrong to insult someone who desperately needs it.

when that becomes necessary, burn them down to a fine, white ash. don't leave charred smoldering remains to trip over later!

Well, three of my favorite historic covered bridges have been destroyed or heavily damaged due to this most unfortunate and ill advised expression.

So my attitude is, please find another path through the English language to get to where you are going here. Drunken trash in every State of the Union are always open to suggestion and are following your instructions, literally.

Just to take a more positive view on this, I think the idea of burning a bridges is to prevent the enemy from crossing back over to your side.

I not only burn bridges, but I kill everyone on the other side before I set the fire If someone treats me bad enough for me to burn the bridge, F' em with a capital F.

Sorry, my last two employers really tried to screw with my health and my wife is disabled due to an employer who didn't give a rat's you-know-what! But, they are going under...

Yep. Sometimes you just have to let people go. Even family.
