Hamer w/P90s

Have been pretty GAS free lately. That is until I walked in my local guitar store and saw one of these: http://www.hamerguitars.com/?fa=detail&mid=1823&sid=185

They wanted $300 used, though I've seen them online for $300 new (???).

Very cool. I've always wanted a gold top Les Paul w/P90s. This definitely has that vibe.

Anyone know anything about this guitar? Where is it made?

Also anyone play P90s in general? I play slide on a Tele and Strat and have heard they are da' bomb.

Now that I've played them enough, I can say that I love p90s and I am looking forward to getting an axe with them. To me, they give you the best of both worlds.
I played this beauty last week and it was... well... expensive.
Great sounding & an awesome guitar. The p90's sounded great.

Spend a little more and find an SG Classic.
I did and I'm so thankful I had the patience and took a pass on the rest.
The SG Classic is simply GREAT.
This is THE GEETAR for gargantuan Rock Tones.
The Neck - oh boy - just try one you'll see.

What the heck model is that? It's got binding like a Lester Custom, but the fret markers are shaped like a Standard...

Found it. Never mind. The Custom Classic...

That is a WAY cool guitar.

Yeah, those are way cool.

And thanks for making my GAS worse!

I had a USA Hamer Special with P90s. It was a very nice guitar, it just didn't get much playing time, as I always grab my Hamer Daytona for gigs. It had kind of a pukey color, too. If I found a prettier one I wouldn't mind replacing it.

The new XT series SATx model is made in China. Earlier SATx models were made in Korea.

P90s are by far my favorite pickup and are very hard to beat for slide playing. I have a Squier Tele Custom II that I can't seem to put down right now. Its an amazing guitar and fantastic for slide. One of the things I like best about the guitar are the seperate vol/tone controls. Very useful when trying to dial in just what you want.

My Casino is great too. I love playing slide on it as well. The best part about the Casino is that the hollowbody really fattens things up and sounds great. Both guitars actually sound similar, but you can tell the difference.

BTW, they both sound great when I jam on some Muddy Waters.

Any excuse to post pics!

Also check out a PRS SE Singlecut with P90s. Way better bang for the buck than anything out there! (these look very cool in black)

$549 for one over here: http://www.chrisguitars.com/prs.html

I think the "x" models aren't Korean, but Indonesian or something else-I think bolt-ons as well-this looks like a set-neck Korean model (the one linked from the site, anyway). The Korean Hamer imports are excellent guitars at their price point.

Extremely cool. I've seen single soapbar versions too. They still make these? I couldn't find one on Musician's Friend or PRS's website.
