Concert Season...

Is shaping up to be quite nice this year.

Just procured 9th row tickets to Tom Waits here in Phoenix in June and have PIT tickets for Radiohead in Seattle this August...

What concerts are you looking forward to this summer?

Had tickets to Etta James tonight but the show was canceled due to illness. (Etta, hope you get better soon!). Going to see Los Lobos in a couple weeks. Probably hit several small blues festivals during ther summer.

I've got pitt tickets for Radiohead too! In a complete 180 genre-wise I've got good seats for Jimmy Buffett in August.

We just saw the Swell Season the other day. They were great.

Got 7th row center for Wilco in August!!! I'll also be catching Bill Kirchen, Tom Petty, Tift Merritt, Emmylou Harris, & John Hiatt. We'll see what else come through town in the next few months.

Robben Ford and Richard Lloyd (formerly of Television) are playing New York the same night. I guess I'll take my wife to see Robben Ford. Lloyd would've been fun. He's got an interesting column in Guitar World magazine, a new album called "The Radiant Monkey" and he's working on a Hendrix tribute. Ford is just too good. A must see for me.

I'm taking my kids to Warped Tour in July.

I got Los Lobos & Los Lonely Boys at the Mountain Winery in Saratoga CA, 3rd row. The winery is a very cool outdoor venue that seats about 1500 in the foothills just outside town. The performers always seem more interactive and laid back there.

Man, I sure wish Radiohead would come to Colorado this year. The wife & I got to see them at Red Rocks on the Hail to the Thief tour. Tom Waits isn't coming to Colorado either, dang it!

The big show of the summer for us will be My Morning Jacket with the Black Keys opening at Red Rocks. Can't wait!

-I'm taking my Wife to the Poets & Pirates Tour at Cleveland Browns Stadium next Saturday. Playing will be Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, Gary Allan, Leann Rimes and Sammy Haggar. Should be a pretty sweet set if the weather cooperates.

Matt D.
