Best "Supergroup" Album

There's been a great thread about favorite debut albums, with lots of great albums being mentioned, so I thought I'd throw this one out there.

What's your favorite one-off supergroup album?

Anyone remember Willie and the Poorboys? Bill Wyman's album to raise money for the Mick Ronson Memorial featured Andy Fairweather Low, Chris Drea, Charlie Watts, Jimmy Page, and Paul Rodgers, among others. Some very cool oldies.

I can flatr out tell you what I think the best Super Group cut of all time is cuz it's not too old, but I think it's "Tell The Truth" off Claptons Crossroads 2007 Concert.
1. Clapton's playing and singing is as good as it gets
2. D. Bramhalls plays great supportive role and sings too
3. Derek Trucks is friggin awesome even getting a nod of wonderment from clapton after his solo as if to say 'Wow".

In regard to "Tell the Truth":That tune is killer from the intro to crescendo to the end in my mind and is the power of the group as well as the power of the song itself

I guess this is a supergroup, since all the members were already well known for something else when it came about. I really love the first Audioslave album (self-titled). People always describe it as Rage Against the Machine meets Soundgarden (the groups the band members were in before), but I don't think that does it enough credit. It's more like the guys from Rage applying their playing to songs, rather than riffs and grooves. All that with Chris Cornell's great lyrics and singing on top.

Blind Faith-the original supergroup.

Bad Co.-I guess. If you say Rodgers, Ralphs, Burrell and Kirke were famous
enough at the time of formation.

Not sure it qualifies as a super group, more of a super project, but Warren Zevon enlisted some heavy hitters for his final record...sad story.

+1, +2, or whatever count we need to bring this one home. The Wilburys win not only for sheer quality but also for the complete lack of "supergroupness" that tends to sink such projects. The Wilburys sound like a genuine, fun project of exploring and enjoying music together. I think the same thing whenever I listen to Real Time by Tim O'Brien and Darrell Scott.

Well hell, if we're gonna talk metal...Metallica did a one time jam thingy were they got together a line up that included themselves John Popper, Les Claypool, Jerry Cantrell, Pepper Keenan & one of the Van Zants. Did a cool version of Tuesday's Gone.

Personally, as much as I liked each member of the Willburys individually, I liked (luke warmly) only a song or two by them. None of them were good enough players in my mind to really constitue a Super Group. Good writers and decent singers yes, at least Orbison and the ELO guy. Dylan and Petty, well their voices have seen better days. I like Georges voice okay and loved his playing back in his Crackerbox Palace days. But Supergroup...okay I guess.

They just didnt really do it for me. What was that supergroup with Hiatt, Cooder, Keltner and Lowe called "Bring The Family". I thought they were good.

The Dirty Mac
featuring
Lohn Lennon - vocals/guitar
Eric Clapton - guitar
Keith Richards - bass guitar
Mitch Mitchell - drums

SWEET!
this lineup can be found on The Rolling Stones Rock 'N Roll Circus. They play Lennon's 'Yer Blues'. Way more stank on it than the original Beatles recording, which, not being a Beatles fan myself, I think sucks.

Velvet Revolver. What can I say, Scott Weiland and Slash works for me. Too bad Scott is leaving the group. STP is getting back together though

They booted Weiland out, I guess that's leaving. But I was also happy to hear STP is getting it back together. I like Weiland, he's just squirrely with all his heroin and crap. Just can't trust an h addict. I hope for STP's members sake he cools it.

+1. Nice album with fine playing. I always thought Stills should be more highly
regarded as a guitarist.

How about the Honeydrippers?
A true "one-off," unlike some of the others mentioned.

Also, does anyone have the "Jammin' With Edward" album, with Jagger, Wyman, Watts and Ry Cooder? My old bootleg has seen better days.
