Albert Lee Country masterclass in London

I've just read in the new UK "Guitar Buyer" magazine that a two-day Country event has been organised by the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in Kilburn, NW London, over the weekend May 31st - June 1st, for intermediate-level players (it says here in the mag). It's due to include a masterclass by Albert Lee.

For further info or to reserve a place on the programme the number to call is 020 7328 0222, or visit www.icmp.uk.com/country-weekend.aspx.

If I weren't booked to be travelling on holiday that weekend I'd be there for sure (Grrr! - wish I'd known sooner ), but I hope you other UK guys won't want to miss it.

Didn't Albert break his arm like last week or so? I thought he wasn't going to be playing for awhile.

Oops! Yes, I believe you're right, now I come to think of it. That'll dilute the appeal of the course a bit but there are seemingly some other really good guys on it as well - Lee Hodgson is one name I saw. I wonder who they'll get to dep for Albert? As if anyone could, that is...

Edit: if I'm not mistaken the photo on the web page shows Albert playing his signature MM through a Trademark 60. No biggie, just saying...

I get emails from ICMP as I am studying there later in the year.
I just got this:

Quote:
Albert Lee Masterclass – date to be confirmed
Albert is way more than a country virtuoso; this is a guitar player who has toured and recorded with Eric Clapton, jazz giant Tal Farlow, acoustic maestro Tommy Emmanuel and the legendary Every Brothers. Unfortunately we had to change the dates as Albert recently broke his arm but hope to announce the new date for this masterclass very soon – we understand he’s well on the road to recovery so get well soon Albert!
We are always announcing new events, so for detailed information on all our masterclasses click here http://www.icmp.uk.com/masterclasses.aspx

Thanks for that info, Jim. With luck, from my point of view, it'll be rearranged for a time when I can make it. The quoted cost for the whole weekend at £249 is a bit steep but in the long run may well be worth paying for a number of reasons.

That is quite a bit- I don't know if that is what students pay or not.
Once it is scheduled I'll let you know if I am going (and I'll bring a Kinman Tele with me.)
