Online Strings?
Can anyone recommend a good website to buy guitar strings?
I like Martin Silk and Steels on my D-35, Rotosounds for bass, D'Addario Pro-Arte or Thomastik Infeld for classical, and D'Addario, Ernie Ball, or DR for electric. I'm open to other brands, but those are the ones I've had reasonably good luck with... Augustine are okay for classical, the Pro-Artes seem to be a bit more consistent, but I haven't had very good luck with La Bella. I don't care for budget line GHS or Darco strings either, they tend to wear out too fast on my guitars. Thanks in advance! |

I use
juststrings.com
Fair prices and great service. Once got some bad "E" 1st. strings in ten sets of GHS strings and they hooked me up with the string manufacturere rep who replaced all of them free. Highly recommend these folks. Rob

I used to buy 2 cases a year from Stringitup.com, but they have raised their prices. Lately I've been using Musicians Friend... 10 sets plus 2 free plus shipping was still cheaper than the new price from StringItUp. And good service, got the order in about 5 days.

http://suncreekmusic.com/ They are one of a few, if not the ONLY, online dealer I have found that charges shipping based on the actual weight of the items ordered, and not by how much money you spend on your order: http://www.suncreekmusic.com/shipping.php

If you are willing to try Pyramid nickel strings on your electrics, the best place to buy is from Don Butler at http://www.tone-man.com/pyramid.htm

Great suggestions. I have put all the links together for quick reference, roughly in order of the least expensive to the most expensive:
