Is it just me or this guy 50?

I saw this on youtube and I swear that the lead singer in this band is wearing a toupee or should I say wig and is at least 50.
Take a look.

Not that there is anything wrong with that...

That fella, Jimmy Stokely, was one of the founding members of Exile.... he left the band in 1979 and has been dead since 1985. I believe he was about 42 when he died.

Exile had a 2nd career as a country band... anyone remember that? According to the web, there have been 36 members of the band so far....

They all seemed around 50 to me...and they didn't really seem like they were trying to hide it. If they were, they failed miserably.

I just turned 40, so I'm old enough to remember this excellent David Carradine character:

I don't know about him, but on a recent radio talk show that frequently turns to music appreciation (which is why I listen), they were speculating about aging rock stars wearing wigs. Steve Tyler was speculated about.

Jimmy Stokley and the Exiles... My favorite band ever!!

Ok, not really. But Jimmy was 34 when that song was a hit. He quit the band a year or two later and died in '85.

Exile still holds a place or two on my list of most dubious group photos.

...4 successive #1 country singles in 1984, namely "Woke Up In Love," "I Don't Want To Be A Memory," "Give Me One More Chance" and "Crazy For Your Love". There were 6 more #1 country singles by 1987: "She's A Miracle," "Hang On To Your Heart," "I Could Get Used To You," "It'll Be Me," "She's Too Good To Be True" and "I Can't Get Close Enough" and numerous minor hits. Exile received 11 nominations for Vocal as well as Instrumental Group Of The Year from the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association.

...Pennington wrote many of the group's songs (often with LeMaire) and several were covered by other artists, including "The Closer You Get" and "Take Me Down", both covered by Alabama, "It Ain't Easy Bein' Easy" covered by Janie Fricke and "Just In Case" by the Forester Sisters.

Death Race 2000 was one of my favorite movies when it came out and Frankenstein was definitely the best character. The scene when they drive through the nursing home and mow down the wheelchairs is worthy of an Oscar.

Their pop hit is the video that launched the thread: "Kiss You All Over." Lucky for them, it was released a few years before the MTV era.

I met David Carradine in person in 2003 in NYC. He was very personable and much older looking than his Grasshopper days...

that is an incredible pop song

the lead singer does look a little older than the rest, but in context to today's stones, tina turner, lyle lovett, and hank williams jr., i don't think he looks that out of the ordinary

That was horrible.

I thought exiles weren't allowed to come back.

Never mind the Cher wig - what's up with all the inflatable lips? I'd hate to imagine who they date...
