Why Local Shops Are Better Than Box Stores

I officially spend too much time at my local guitar shop. I called today to ask them if they were going to get in any of the new player's classic Jazzmasters. The guy on the phone immediately knows me by name and tells me they hadn't any ordered any but what color do I want? I tell him sunburst, he says okay we'll order one, take it easy bro. Now that's service right there. This is the reason I'd rather go to my local shop than anywhere else around.

Well, I guess I should have given the store name: Guitar Emporium on Bardstown Rd right here Louisville, Ky USA. Best dang store in the state IMHO.

I love the local shop here, Sioux Falls Music. I also love the pawn shops. However, that doesn't stop me from hitting the local Guitar Center. Those guys need to feed their families, too. I'll look for what I want at the locally owned store first, but I have no problem buying from GC if they have what I want.

When I wanted to work out a deal/trade for the G&L ASAT CLassic I just brought home, it was just like that.

They said if you're unsure of what you want, let us know if when you're down to 2-3 models/colors. We'll order them to have here, you can try them out, if you like one we'll make a deal. If not order one that you decided on.

I looked at a bunch online, read ALOT about them here, threw my tasted in, called the NEXT DAY, and ordered one to MY SPECS!

LOVE IT!
