Anyone going to see "Iron Man"?

I didn't go see "The Hulk" or and of "The Fantastic Four" movies at a theatre but I might try to see this one.

The special effects look pretty phoney in most of the movies.

I own a LOT of movies that are adaptations of comics. It's part of my state of closet geekitude. I have not decided yet from the trailers if I will go see it or not, but I will definitely buy it when it hits DVD. Iron Man was one of my favorites when I was a kid.

Yeah, I had all the Marvel comics (should've kept 'em but sold them all when I was 14 years old).

I don't recall the Iron Man superhero as a kid...and I was a pretty nerdy comic book purchasing nutjob. Is it the same Iron Man that Ozzy sings about? Was Iron Man pre-Superman or post-Superman? I feel left out again.

It's showing at a mall theatre a couple of blocks from where I live so I'll see it this weekend.

Maybe I'll ask a grocery store girl to go with me.

Went to see Iron Man this afternoon. Great fun!

One of the better superhero movies I've seen. Anyone who's a fan of the genre should definitely check it out.

Ha. Pre-Superman superheroes are a very small lot. The small number includes Zorro, The Phantom, and The Shadow.

But anywho, Iron Man didn't come about until 1963. No, he's not the same Iron Man Ozzy sings about because Ozzy doesn't want to pay royalties to Marvel Comics. How you managed to be a comic book nerd and never hear of Iron Man, I'll never know.

I remember seeing Iron Man on the Avengers covers, but I never read the Avengers. I did read Thor and Captain America, though... Also Avengers.

I'd have to say that so far this was probably the best of the Marvel movies. The CGI wasn't offensive or even really noticeable in this one. Very well done. Of course, if you go looking for it you'll see it... but it didn't just jump up and down screaming HEY! CGI IN DA HOUSE!!! like some of them do.

As always, be sure to stay through the credits.

I'm a recovering Comic Book geek...Heck, I owned my own Comic Shop for 7 years!! (yep, retail brick and morter...). Iron Man was always one of my top fave titles.

I loved the movie!
They did a good mix of past and more modern story lines. Fans of the comic series will recognize a mixture of story arcs...but in a good way.
Yet, even if you don't know the Comic version, you will "get" it and enjoy the movie.
Lot's of 'lil side stuff for Fanboys..including the useall cameo by Stan the Man.
If any comic geeks here read the Marvel Knights version of Iron Man about six years back they will definetly see where some of the story came from.

All in all, one of the better comic book movies I've seen, and like I said, I'm a big Iron Man fan and cringed a little at this movie when I first heard about it last year, thinking they'd ruin it.
I was pleasently surprised!

There was a big stack of "vintage" comic books for sale at a local thrift store yesterday. I don't think they were the '60s comics though.

I think it'll be the first "summer movie" I go see. I've always liked Robert Downey Jr, warts and all, and two of my buddies saw it last weekend and loved it. Maybe they needed to use a lesser-known Marvel hero to make a good movie? The Spiderman films have all been good, but the others have been turkeys in my book.

Loved it! I was a big fan of the Iron Man books, and had my doubts after seeing what they did to the Fantastic Four, The Hulk and Ghost Rider. Heck even the Spiderman trilogy fizzled out BIG time. Iron Man did NOT disappoint! Possibly my favorite comic book movie ever!

Pretty awesome movie. Saw it this past Sunday. Can't stress this enough, STAY AFTER THE CREDITS.

I can't believe they almost refused Mr. Downey Jr. the role! I thought he was great, and aside from the superhero thing, there are many similarities between him and Tony Stark. A very talented actor, it's great to see he's got his life back on track. I wonder if he really plays a tele...
