The best examples of Rock N roll behavior

Well then the phrase is "Sex, drugs and Rock N roll" and to quote Marilyn Manson "Rock N Roll is meant to piss people off."

so let's have some fun and look for the most "Rock N roll" behavior ever over the years.

I'll start with Slash and Duff of Guns N Roses showing up totally loaded at the 1990 AMA's.

Nothing says "Rock N Roll" like trashing your hotel room.

And nothing screams "Rock N roll" as much as making fun of former band members...

And I'll end it with what might have been the earliest recorded example of Rock N Roll behavior.

Arthur Brown (Crazy World of....) jumping off balcony onto stage at Shrine Expo Hall in LA and breaking his leg yet going on with the show.

James Jamerson flat on his back unable to stand up and paying incredible bass on "What's Going On".

Hell's Angels at Altamont...real aggro, not a bunch of posers. Rock and roll behavior at its ultimate.

Grace Slick at a Jeff Airplane show expelling gas - fXrting - into a mike.

Keith Richards getting shocked by a mike in Sacramento at the Memorial Auditorium.

I'm pretty sure 'Moonie' dove into an empty pool at a hotel one time. That's pretty rock and roll.

How about that one where Keef slams
the stage crasher with his Fender then
goes right back to playing? That looks
pretty Rock&Roll to me. LB

Didn't Motley Crue actually diarise their excesses in a book?

Mind you the words "Motley Crue" and "book" shouldn't really co-exist in the same sentence.

Rock and Roll behavior is nothing new though. The antics of films stars, jazz and blues musicians and 19th and early 20th century politicians predate the likes of The Who and others by decades.

Jorge, is that part of their schtick? Man, I can't say how I really feel about that but it rhymes with "Muster Bluck"...

Rent the movie DIG!, a documentary about the Brian Jonestown Massacre.

Some serious rock n' roll behavior. Especially their brawl at the Viper Room when all sorts of record execs are their to sign them if they can just keep it together.

favorite lines:
"what's that?"
"blood"
"from what?"
"people's faces!"

Yeah but there is alot of cool rock n roll behavior too.. like the time they got busted by the police for drug possesion on tour.. the money was gone so they had to play acousticaly like street musicians to get money.

I can only say two words that would make every rock n' roller look tame by comparison. GEORGE JONES.

(And yet another moment of "I-don't-watch-TV-enough-to-know-about" about to happen...)

Who's that?

Hahahaha! Right on brother. George Jones, Johnny Paycheck, Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams Jr all lived more rock and roll in 5 random minutes of their lives than all these rockers did put together.

Except Keith Moon, that guy was nuts...

I used to love this stuff when I was younger, now not so much. Maybe because I'm a father, maybe because the years have gone by and I appreciate things more, but I look at these people and can't help but think about what a waste of god given talent this behaviour is. Oh well, people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones, rock on!

Nothing screams Rock N roll like making the best of a bad situation. Like the Dutch band Doe Maar did when they headlined the Pinkpop musicfestival in 1983. A couple of hooligans began to throw apples at them, hitting Bassplayer/Leadsinger Henny Vrienten in the face and leaving the stage littered with fruit. Vrienten saw the humorous side of it and proclaimed:

"Boy we have enough here to stack a fruit store, would anyone like an apple?"

Nothing sreams Rock N roll like Neil Young's "Journey through the past" tour of 1972, where he played the entire album which hadn't come out yet, so the audience didn't know the songs at all. Young proclaimed:

"If you can sit through this at the end I'll play songs you know."

...and proceeded to play the "Journey through the past" album once again.
