No worries... the Riel Rebellion was probably the single most important event in MB history. But representing Lower Fort Garry at that time would be dull, so we do 1851. I would like to reenact the Rebellion in downtown Winnipeg, though!

You are an exceedingly generous person whose sole aim in life is to send me every piece of gear you have in your possession. Now, stare at the swirling disk and take out your check book!!!!

I've loved history my whole life, and well remember family vacations from 35 years ago when we visited Williamsburg, St. Augustine, or Charleston SC. I've been blessed to visit all 50 of the United States, Israel, Asia, and several European countries, and consistently bore my wife with little factoids I find interesting.

I've taught US History and currently specialize in medieval letters (the world as seen through the eyes of Augustine (man, not city), Bede, Dante, Chaucer, Petrarch, and whoever wrote down Roland and Beowulf). In three weeks I'll be in the UK for summer vacation and plan on hitting all sorts of great old places. Fun stuff!

Dan G, it sounds like you've got a fine job. Good on ya!
