Taking of Pelham 123 remake
I see somebody's remaking my favorite movie. Anybody remember the old one?
I saw it on New York channel 11 as a kid. Robert Shaw, Walter Matthau, unbelievable New York cast, great accents everywhere. I don't know how they're going to top it. "What the hell do they expect for their lousy 35 cents, to live forever?" |

I saw that movie when I was a kid - absolutely loved it! I was about to add it to my Netflix queue when I noticed that members can stream the movie for free. I know what I'm watching tonight...

I can't believe someone's doing a remake of it.
The orig was such a perfect cross section of grimy grim 70s NYC, and a great movie to boot.

Great movie!
Especially Walter Matthau's classic line: "Hijack a subway? How the hell do you hijack a subway?"

I read the original novel a while before the movie came out and I thought the picture didn't do a bad job at all of capturing the essence of the book. Can't see how a remake could improve on that.

I hadnt heard about this until I saw this thread... For some reason I immediately thought of Will Smith.... please Lord.... " ah hell no" not Will Smith. He isnt in it is he?
Remake Pelham123? A comment on the almost total lack of new ideas in Hollywood.
