I'll put it to you this way. The first time a former girlfriend and I, uh, got together, shall I say, was after I showed her my guitar collection. I don't think I played a note. Yeah, it'll help you get the chicks, but it'll make keeping her a lot harder once she realizes you spend more time with that old guitar then her.

After watching VH1's Behind The Music episode about RATT the other night, it's all too true. I never got what was so attractive about guys in tight red pants, pointy shoes, long frizzy hair, and makeup. But give them a guitar, an 80 piece drum kit, and a camera to mug in front of and KA-BOOM: Chicks everywhere and in various stages of undress.
I always figured I had a hard time meeting hot babes because I was a doofus. Turns out I just didn't wear enough makeup. Rather than Viagra, get a Strat! (Tele guys should still keep taking Viagra just to be on the safe side.)

It's funny, I got a lot more action when I was a professional brewer (twice had women get "friendly" after I gave them brewery tours!) than I ever have as a musician... Cheers, Tim

I'm 61 and I have a young female (platonic) friend. We were sitting at a bar and she was telling me her troubles with her latest guy friend. She mentioned that he's a musician. I laughed and said, "Girls and musicians. That's like guys and strippers." She gave me the old "No it isn't!" That was maybe a year ago. Recently, again sitting at a bar, she admitted I was right. She has sworn off musicians. At least the kind who gig in clubs. Besides, what does a smart girl want with a guy who is around potential groupies and gets home at perhaps 4 or 5 a.m. while she's sound asleep (unless she clings to him while he's working, which is rather creepy).
