Incredible story of fate...adoption

We adopted a little girl about 3 years ago. She is no doubt, the light of my life.

As my wife and I proceed to adopt again, we became challenged and overwhelmed, financially, and emotionally. In January we put the 2nd adoption on hold.

So on Monday a week ago, she gets an email from our agency about a near term adoption. She caught me at a relaxed moment late in the evening and I said "ok". Three days later we found we were selected out of many MANY applicants.

One day we were thinking that our family will always be 3, and 3 days later our whole world changed.

I broke down right there in my office, almost immediately after the phone call. I could not beleive it. It was a 1 in 100 probability. It may be the most amazing thing that I never expected to happen.

I am still choked up about it.

Congrats man. You are doing a wonderful thing. The wife and I are not in any way considering having any more kids, but we have both said that down the road, if ours are getting bigger, and we aren't ready to be out on our own yet, we would definitely consider adoption. So many little ones in this world who need somebody to love them. Again, you are doing a wonderful thing, and I'm really glad it worked out for you.

Tis truly a wondrous thing you do.
To offer another human being the warmth, caring and love they may have missed out on.
Congrats.

As an only child/adopted son, I'll say "thank you". God only knows where I'd be at this point if my unselfish parents hadn't taken me home in 1960. From time to time, somebody will ask me "Don't you want to know who your real parents are?" To me, the answer is without question. My parents are the ones that raised me, provided for me, taught me, and loved me.

Thank you, and enjoy.

My cousin adopted two children (little girls)that were born with birth defects and thanks to her financial situation they are both now happy and healthy and they don't even remember being anything else.
You're a saint for adopting .So many people go outside the country to do that(stupid Angelina and Brad)when there's kids in need right here.
You've just forever changed the coarse of that childs life forever, that's HUGE!! That's bigger than anything I can imagine, good for you guys!

We adopted our daughter over 4 years ago - shes now approaching five and a half.

This was without a doubt the most enriching thing we ever did - we had no family of our own.

Congratulations - some things are meant to be.

From a recipient

of just such an action over 41 years ago, I want to thank you and your wife. You already know how important your decision is to that child. I just want to tell you that it is important to many little (and now not so little) lost ones. Being found is a wonderful thing.

Thanks,
Danny
