Coily cables: Bullet vs Vox

Please don't say "neither!!" I have good straight cables but have a nostalgic fondness for coil cables. I have the cheap Fender Koily Kord and it sounds pretty good. I tried the "higher end" Fender Koily Kord and it sounded like krap!
I've been reading up on the Bullet and the Vox cords and am wondering who has tried them. The Vox is a little cheaper and has the cool Vox logo on the right-angle plug end. The main issue I experienced with the "better" Fender kord was a loss of highs. I haven't had this problem with the cheaper Koily Kord, so go figure.
Anyway, all opinions appreciated as always.
Coil cords forever!!

I have one of the Vox cords - it has given me no problems whatsoever and works as well as any other cord I've tried. However, I have never taken this particular cord out of the house - it stays in my music room. As you know, gig abuse has made many a good cord go bad, and I don't know how it reacts to gigs.

Core One Bullet cables are pretty good I have played them at music and they did a pretty good. Although I will admit they are bit heavy.

I bought from these guys and they were pretty good too.

I have two of the Vox coils and I like them quite a bit. Plenty of slack and no tangled mess. I A/Bed mine with my Monster Performer 500 and I didn't hear much difference. They come with a draw string bag to keep it in which works great to keep it from slopping around in your case as well.

I have a coiled cord that I've used gigging for several years now. I can't remember the make (it's in the other room where the Missus is sleeping). I've not been able to find another one of the same quality. Most coiled cords are crap.

I'll have to check out the Vox and Bullet ones.

I've always like coiled cables too. I find them tidy at gigs (I don't move around that much outside a 5 foot radius) and they are a reminder of my early guitar playing days in the 70s.

i'd love to find a good-sounding, gigworthy curly cord, cuz i'm always tripping over my straight cords onstage. how durable are the Vox and the Bullets? anybody gigged 'em hard?

Today I checked for coil cables vs straight cables, both from Bullet.

They were at the same price, but the specs are different. I couldn't make up my mind and didn't buy any.

I was looking mainly for a coil cable, but wasn't sure if it would affect the sound that much.

They said it caress the highs without squashing them...

Btw, here is a comment about Fender/Vox vs Bullet

The weight of the Bullet cables seems to be a common lament.
The Vox looks cooler and seems to run about $5 less on average; Vox it is.
I'll report on the results.

I have a Vox and I love it. I don't gig with it but it's been through some pretty tough jams with no problems. It holds up to abuse just fine and sounds great.

I'll second that; I unscrewed the sleeve on one of mine and they dip the backside of the jack in plastic like they do on Monster cables so it can't come unsoldered.

I want to say I saw that Lava Cables now have curly cords. More expensive, but tone is worth doing right.

I bought a black Bullet coil cable this afternoon, and I was ready for a (bad??) surprise, but noticed no bad effect on the tone of my Teles when plugged directly into my Fender HRD.

I also don't find it too heavy. So I am very satisfied of my purchase.

I didn't compare the sound with my normal straight cable, but just started using it for a practice with an open ear. And I love the feeling so much that I don't think I will bother to use the old cable again...

Btw, I wanted a cable with 2 straight connectors, so the obvious choice was the black one. It's also better for Blues...

Vox one hasn't let me down in many gigs...and it looks so cool!
Nice heft to it, too, and the bag keeps it neat. I like it a lot.

A Bullet with one right angle end, a bit heavy but no problem, acceptable signal, groovy '70s retro/nostalgia function, and cool appearance. I don't run over it with my swivel chair as much as a straight cable. Mine's maybe 20', a shorter one would be nice for home.
