I'm in Sioux Falls, SD, but that's the other side of the state.

I'm in Rapid City, and I'm a tele picker, but I'm basically a basement player who very occasionally ventures out into the world to embarrass myself at some open mike. I used to go to the one ran by Steve Thorpe at Potters Knight's Cellar in Spearfish a lot, and put people to sleep with drippy instrumental guitar versions of 'The Tennessee Waltz'.

My Mom is from Brookings, SD, but she left in 1952, robbing me of my chance to be a South Dakotan.
Sigh... Tim

spent some time in vermillion '86 and brookings '96. love sd, especially the western end... the black hills are my spiritual home. i think its one of the most beautiful places ive ever been to or seen (rushmore is kinda impressive but id rather that they wouldnt have defaced a mountain). you have to wanna go there to wanna go there, if you grok my meaning.
everytime ive been there, bout half dozen, i feel like ive arrived on the set of bonanza. winters there are extremely beautiful but very coldddddddddddddd. imho. rand z tropicalsoul.net |

-I'd love to see North & South Dakota and Wyoming. Montana too. Should be a totally different scene than here in Ohio. My assistant at work went to the Bad Lands on vacation about 5-6 years ago for a couple weeks. The stuff he talked about really interested me. My Wife and I have looked into a rail trip there a couple years ago. But man they wanted WAY more than just flying. We just thought it would be traveling by train.

everybody ought to experience the sturgis rally once in their lives, then come back and visit when there's not a half million wannabe bikers clogging up the roads.
we gig pretty regularly around the black hills, check our schedule here |
