I live about 20 miles from ground zero (Virginia Beach)...AFAIK nobody got killed which is crazy considering some of the damage.

Lot of damage and injuries, no fatalities...

Colonial Heights is about 20 miles south of where I am in Richmond, and it got hit pretty badly, but the worst was in Suffolk, down near Norfolk and Va. Beach.

The weirdest part was listening to the National Weather Service broadcasting tornado warnings in Chesterfield County, where I live...

It's difficult to really take it seriously, since it so rarely happens...I didn't do anything to prepare for it, and the next thing you know, I was hearing that they actually touched down.

I'll have to work on a plan for next time...

Good here

Charlottesville got some wind and gentle rain. I didn't hear about the tornados till I got up in the morning.

My heart goes out to those folks, those twisters made a mess.

Ok here in Midlothian, but I have friends in Colonial Heights. They were nervous but unscathed.
