A Discovery and a Couple of Pics
I'm trading away my Wildkat so I've just finished removing some of the upgrades I had done to it so I could recover some of the money spent on it.
I removed the GFS mini humbuckers I installed (a shout out to Deaf Eddie, thanks) and reinstalled the Epi P90's (another shout out to DE, thanks again). The Discovery: I've always hated wiring semi and fully hollow guitars but today I discovered a little trick that makes hiding the wiring and keeping it in place a little easier. I used some aluminum tape that I have for sheilding to stick little bundles of wires to the underside of the guitar top. Works like a dream. The adhesive is just right for the job and the aluminum is very malleable for shaping around the wires. The Pictures: When I installed the mini humbuckers I used the stock P90 covers as the bezels for them. I used my Dremel tool to cut open the top of the cover and then drilled a couple of mounting holes for the mini. So I just did the reverse when I was removing the mini humbuckers. I've mounted the Epi P90's in the stock covers with the top removed. I removed the pole screws and sprayed a couple of coats of Krylon satin black to make them look a little spiffier. I reattached the pickups inside the covers with epoxy. I took a couple of pics cause I think it looks kinda cool and retro.

The chair!! I says to myself. What the @%$# is he talking about.
Well I've got a 'photo shoot' coming up to document some recent mods on a couple of guitars and so forth and one of them at least will be posted and will likely have pics of 'the chair'. I'll bet it feels like waitin' for chrstimas now.

My buddy who owns the chair thinks it's quite hilarious that his chair is 'famous' on the internet. Well sort of. And it got more attention than my guitar did.
I think he's trying to get rid of it, I should put you two in touch.

haha, Well if he knows someone with a truck heading to the Utah ski resorts, I have the perfect place to park the chair.
What made you decide to give up the Wildkat? And what will replace it?

The Wildkat's going because I just never really bonded with it. It was one of those impulse buys where I think I was wooed by it's good looks but a solid relationship never developed. Oh well! Now I'm busy figuring out how to get the GFS mini humbuckers that I had put in the Wildkat into my Squire Thinline. It just never ends!!! I traded the Wildkat for a MIM Standard, which I'm really liking, and a little bit of cash. My best buy recently was a little Epi LP Junior. It was $125 used. I traded a couple of pieces of gear that I never used toward it and it wound up costing me $8. It just rocks for a piece of plywood. Sometimes you get lucky and find a guitar that's got a little magic in it regardless of the cost!!
